Apply HereThe Everett Hoop Club (EHC) Basketball Program was formed to prepare youth basketball players for high school level play at Everett High School. It is designed for boys and girls who are looking to receive more training, play more games and play at a higher competition level.
Feeder programs limit participation to players that will attend a specific high school, so the Everett Hoop Club teams are for players who live in the Everett High School attendance area and plan to attend Everett High.
The biggest difference is that AAU/club programs have no geographic limits on where they source their players. EHC is a high school feeder program, focusing on developing players to play together at Everett High School. We provide a highly competitive basketball experience and preparation for high school basketball. In addition, AAU teams typically play throughout the spring/summer, while our program’s main season is in winter, aligning with the high school season.
Recreational programs typically do not have tryouts and tend to offer fewer practices, trainings and games with varying levels of coaching. Recreational programs will have a lower level of competition. They are a great way to get a feel for the game when starting out, or for those who are not yet ready or interested in a higher level of competition.

Tryouts are generally held at the end of September. They will be announced on our social media pages (Instagram and Facebook).
You need to register for tryouts on our website once dates are announced. There is no fee for tryouts.
Our priority is to find quality coaches that can coach the game and be positive role models. If a person fits those qualifications and happens to be a parent, we are open to having them coach. You will meet your grade level coach at tryouts. We are always looking for people that are interested in coaching, please let us know!
Rosters typically have 8-11 players.
During assessments we fit players with the correct level of competition and team, players will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skill with ball handling, shooting, passing, listening, teamwork, leadership, fitness, speed/agility, and basketball game play. We also consider team makeup and player fit with the team and organization. Multiple assessors will evaluator during tryouts and decisions will be based off a collaborative effort between all the assessors.
The season runs from October/November through March. Each team will play roughly 20-25 games against other feeder and AAU teams (league and tournaments). The season concludes with the state tournament in Spokane, for qualifying teams. Travel is a possibility and would be an additional cost.
Teams practice two times per week in the evenings, either 90 or 120 minutes per practice, at North Middle School or Everett High School. Some teams will participate in pre-season tournaments in October/November, and the Wesco league games are held the beginning of December through February. Teams generally play two games per weekend, girls games on Saturdays and boys games on Sundays.
Cost changes by season based on the changing league fees and other costs. The cost for the 2025-26 season is $475 for player fees, plus purchase of a uniform (approx. $100). Player fees include league play (practices and weekend league games) and 2 tournaments, and covers much of the program costs (gym rentals, league fees, referee costs, equipment and administrative fees). There are payment plan options for the player fees, and if cost is a hardship you can apply for a hardship scholarship depending on need. Please note, the player fees do not fully cover the actual cost the club incurs for a player to play, our club relies on fundraising to make up the difference, and we need all families involved in the club to assist with these fundraisers to keep player fees as low as possible!
As a non-profit that tries to keep playing costs affordable for families, we rely heavily on volunteers. For games to go smoothly we need families to help with gym setup/clean up, score table, and fundraising support. With this, we have required service hours for each family, and any unfulfilled hours will be billed a monetary amount for that season (will be noted in the parent documentation for the season). There is also a required parent/family meeting at the beginning of the season.
Playing time is earned based on each player’s effort, attention, commitment, and ability displayed in practice and in games. Players with the best ability to combine these skills will receive the greatest amount of playing time. Playing time is at the discretion of the coach.
A 3rd grader can play for the 4th grade team since there isn’t a team at those grade levels. Once players reach grade 4 it is strongly recommended that they will play with their grade level. Playing up may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
